An introduction into FAIR Research Data Management

When:
Tuesday, March 16, 2021 - 12:00 to 13:30
Description:

Research Data Management (RDM) is a crucial component of research integrity. More and more funding bodies and research institutes require safely stored data nowadays, but data should also be open for sharing or available for the reproduction of research. The guiding principle in this respect is “as open as possible, as closed as necessary.” The Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reuse of the digital research data, or in other words their FAIRness, is another important principle on which good RDM should be built. In this interactive webinar DANS (Data Archiving and Networked Services in the Netherlands) will provide an introduction to the importance of Research Data Management (RDM). Topics like RDM policies, the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC), open and FAIR data, research integrity, data sharing aspects, storing data in trusted repositories, and Data Management Plans (DMPs) will be discussed.

Learning goal:

This webinar will be given in the context of EOSC-hub and OpenAIRE. EOSC-hub brings together multiple service providers to create the Hub: a single contact point for European researchers and innovators to discover, access, use and reuse a broad spectrum of resources for advanced data-driven research. OpenAIRE supports the Open Science policy of the European Commission.
